The LIVE-IT project aims to aggregate and valorise the insights and findings of different ‘research lenses’ on the relationship
between cognitive disabilities and digital inclusion into actionable experimentation spaces, in order to support inclusive
accessibility by tailoring design to the settings in which people with cognitive disabilities engage with digital technologies in
their everyday ‘lifeworld’.

The IDEA project through experiential action aims to address underachievement in the basic skills of maths. It aims at working effectively in relation to the subject of mathematics, covering maths material of the first 3 grades of the primary school including: addition; subtraction; fractions; measuring length in millimetres and centimetres; decimal numbers; patterns; multiplication; division; geometrical shapes; etc... focusing on the multiplication table due to the complexity and the succession of manoeuvres needed for application. The IDEA project through experiential action will be fostering critical thinking skills by addressing cultural context in teaching science.

Attract-Transition-Suceed is an initiative of NUI Galway on behalf of the North/NorthWest Cluster (with NUIG, GMIT, LYIT, ITSligo). This project aims to support the development of sustainable pathway to higher education for students who experience disadvantage. Breaking the SEAL is the flagship programme within this initiative and focuses on the development of transversal skills for senior cycle students, anchored in the second level curricular subject of history.

This research investigates the efficacy of institutional peer-mentoring initiatives for university students. Phase One (2021) involves the collection of quantitative data from mentors and mentees in order to examine how the supports helped to build social belonging and academic confidence, and programme satisfaction. Phase Two (2022) will involve qualitative data collection related to experience as a mentor and mentee.
